Our Water Softener Fawa® Soft was honored at the 2026 WeRoll Awards in the «Water Treatment» category. The awards are presented by ARMO, the international umbrella organization for the rotational molding industry. Seven products from seven countries are featured in the 2026 edition—with the Fawa® Soft being the only one in the water treatment category.
The award recognizes not the design, but the use of resources.
All ion-exchange water softeners work the same way: A bed of resin binds calcium and magnesium and releases sodium in exchange. When the resin is exhausted, a brine solution rinses it clean again. This process is called regeneration.
The difference lies in the fact that, when A system that does that.
The Fawa® Soft measures how much water you actually use and uses that information to determine the condition of the resin bed. Guests, a pile of laundry, or high water usage trigger an earlier regeneration cycle. When you’re away on vacation, a forced regeneration is automatically performed only once a week to prevent bacterial growth in the resin bed.
This is precisely the criterion for the 2026 edition of the awards: systems that use resources only when they are needed.
The fact that the Fawa® Soft is featured at all in a magazine about rotational molding is due to its shell. In rotational molding, a heated mold rotates around two axes until the molten plastic coats the inner wall evenly. The result is a seamless housing with uniform wall thickness—without any seams where moisture can penetrate.
For a device that sits in a damp utility room for years and is handled regularly when refilling the salt, this is a key factor in its durability. The housing was developed in collaboration with the Grütter Plastics + Molds, Inc. in Hombrechtikon.
The Fawa® Soft is assembled at our manufacturing facility in Aesch, BL.
A water softener is an investment that lasts ten to fifteen years. When water hardness reaches around 25 °fH, the benefits are usually quite noticeable; between 15 and 25 °fH, it’s a matter of weighing the pros and cons.
