SVGW-certified: Our Fawa® Soft line now bears the Swiss seal of quality for drinking water

We're excited to share some big news: Our Water Softening Systems Fawa® Soft are now available from the Swiss Gas and Water Association (SVGW) certified. This means that our best-selling water softeners for residential use bear the most widely recognized seal of quality in the Swiss water industry.

What does SVGW certification mean?

The SVGW is the Swiss Trade Association for Water, Gas, and Heat and operates the official water certification body. It verifies whether a product meets all requirements for use in Swiss drinking water systems—including hygienic, technical, process engineering, and acoustic requirements.

The testing is based on the SVGW standards ZW5 and ZW117, the European standard EN 14743, and portions of DIN 19636-100. The certification body itself is accredited according to SN EN ISO/IEC 17065. For you as a customer, this means, in a nutshell: An SVGW-certified water softener meets the requirements of the Swiss Drinking Water Ordinance and our Food Act—as verified by an independent testing body.

What exactly was reviewed?

As part of the certification process, our Fawa® Soft Systems thoroughly examined:

• Hygiene Safety – Materials in contact with drinking water, microbiological behavior
• Process Engineering – reliable water softening performance and regeneration
• Hydraulics – Pressure, flow, and performance characteristics
• Acoustics – Operating noise within permissible limits
• Structural Safety – CE-compliant design, connection requirements, backflow prevention

The test report was issued on May 11, 2026, under certificate number 2401-7280 Issued by the SVGW.
